Sorry for this silly story, but maybe you will get some benefit from it. Strolling the Castle grounds, like everyone else, we looked out from some observation deck to the gardens below. In so doing we noticed a couple tables with people having a drink. Ok. This will be an ideal setting, a rest, a cold drink (Aug-/Sept) and viewing... More

The beautiful gardens, not too many people and a beautiful day bring us back. For another way to get down from the Castle. Because the garden is terraced, there are many stairs to negotiate. But the views change at the different levels, so it is worth it to walk through if you have the time and energy. We always find... More

This garden is just one of those belonging to the Palace Gardens, situated on the slopes under the Prague Castle towards Mala Strana (Lesser Town). The Ledebour Garden is a spectacular Baroque terrace garden built in the Italian style. An absolutely breath-taking, quiet and romantic place! (No wonder it is also used as wedding venue!)

Located on the south side of the Castle, the terraced gardens are beautiful to be enjoyed in every weather. Many steps will lead you through the multiple terraces and the photos opportunities are endless. There are benches to just relax and take in the view. If you are coming down from the Castle the booth where you buy tickets is... More

We were surprised how many people looked down on these gardens but were not prepared to pay the 80 CZK for a beautiful meandering walk down towards the parliament building. What a spot to live. What beautiful, quiet alcoves and lush green terraced gardens to soak up late autumn sun. What views up and down the steep hill. Take your... More

these gorgeous gardens have only a few reviews. Perhaps because people do not stumble upon them like we happen to do. They were on of our highlights during our 4 days in Prague. They were not only beautiful, but relaxing as no one was there. I can only assume it is because tours do not have the time and others... More

I liked the situation of the garden, even if it requires climbing stairs all the time - but that is what makes it special. The gardens below Prague Castle are all different. They are not gardens full of flowers but more like architectural landscape.

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
