Get yourself and longer tram ticket (90mins) and get the 22 tram to Ujezd. You can then use this ticket on the funicular rail that will take you mostly up the hill to the tower. You have the option of purchasing an extra ticket to use the lift or walk up the stairs to the top. I went when the... More

Busy with lengthy queues to use the lift especially if you are there at the same time as student parties. Quiz your tour leader or hotel concierge to find the quietest times. Queues too for the funicular from near the riverside which takes you up to the tower ticket office. If you walk up using the adjoining parkland paths the... More

We knew about the funnicular (?) to the top, but as we had a big breakfast in the Hoffmeister Hotel we decided to walk up the hill for the exercise. Not content with that, we climbed the 299 steps to the top of the tower (there are benches along the way to collapse if you must!). Fabulous views in all... More

Perfect view to the city from the top. Ticket prices about 150 local currency. There is a funiculare ride to the top.

We took tram 22 to Strahov Monastery, after checking out the library we took the long scenic walk down the hill. One of the best morning we had in Prague! There are less tourists, we enjoyed some quiet time here and took a lot of pictures. Strongly recommended when you want to get away from the crowd.

Lovely views and a half hour adult ticket is 260 czk. This is about £10 or €10, and the trip is about 5 minutes and generally packed, watch your bags.

A peaceful and colorful place at the very heart of Prague right next to Hrad. You can go uphill by the funicular which is included into the city transportation system so your 90 mins or daily tickets are valid, or just take an hour-long walk along the alleys and loose some calories.

Choose a sunny day if possible to get the very best views for miles around Prague. The tower has been refurbished, and the 299 stairs are modern and easy to walk up/down - separate stairways for each direction. Try the funicular train for getting up the hill, which also has good views.
