We were going to Prague with our 5&9 y/o children, i looked up the prices and decided it was a no brainer, about 100 dollars for all of us in our own box, what a fabulous first opera experience! The National Theater is gorgeous inside and out. The theater was actually smaller inside than I expected so I think most... More

We went to see a performance of the Nutcracker and the Cuddly Mouse. I didn't do my homework properly, simply booked this because I love the Nutcracker and wanted to see something in the beautiful Prague National Theater. However, this adaptation of the Nutcracker is really aimed at kids (as was evident from the number of kids in the audience)... More

Not opera goers but our family of four got to experience International level opera in our own box for under £100 in total, one ticket at home would cost more than that. Amazing value - the drinks and snacks were far cheaper than you'd pay in a UK cinema! We saw Janeck's Cunning Little Vixen a, shorter than average, rather... More

We were lucky enough to attend a performance of the Nutcracker and the Cuddly Mouse over the holiday season. The ballet was amazing. A different interpretation of the classic story. The theater itself is stunning. A great night with our family. If you can, slip out to the rooftop during intermission for a fantastic view of the city at night.

I surprised my wife by taking her to a play at the National Theater. Boy was she surprised - the entire play was in Czech lol ! We had a great time ! We went to see V rytmu swingu business srdce me. Basically a swing/dance play about the American liberation of Czechoslovakia during World War II. Even though it... More

Excellent, there is no intermission and the show lasts 1 and half hours. Costumes are amazing and well done. The orchestra was great. The cast was very talented and great singers. I strongly recommend for all ages

We saw the ballet The Nutcracker and the Cuddly Mouse and absolutely loved it - funny, original, engaging, talented dancers. The theatre is stunning, and we had great views despite being right at the back of the cinema (the tickets cost 350kč only - but bear in mind that there is no lift, so we had to walk a lot... More

Have just returned from a performance of Aida in this magnificent architectural treasure, unfortunately the staging and chorus did not match the surroundings or the quality of the soloists and orchestra. The theatre is a gem, the soloists and orchestra where on top form, but the chorus required more rehearsing. At times the chorus made the large stage feel cramped... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
