The Czech Republic boasts numerous city centers with beautiful architecture; the large central square of Telc ranks among the finest of the dozens of cities we've visited there over the years. In fact, the buildings are so beautiful that souvenir stores will sell replica models...More

We visited Telc with our tour group and walked into the old town square from our hotel. We walked through parkland past an orangerie, a well tended park and a gorgeous pond, so that set the scene for a start. It was then up, through...More

Huge central square, surrounded by beautiful buildings, decorated with Sgrafito or has-relief styles. This was the prettiest central square we saw in the Czech Republic. Recommended!

Really nice square, beautiful houses. And that's pretty much it. A pity they allow cars parking in the square. The restaurants (italian, mexican) and cafes have a feel of tourist trap. The toy shop is worth a visit to get transported decades back in time....More

Walking from the car park a few hundred yards away, through the old town gate, nothing prepares you for what you are about to as you reach the baroque fronted buildings that surround the square. The cloistered walk has a number of shops, bars, cafes...More

Fantastic spot to stop and catch your breath. Don't miss the walk around the lake, a fantastic spot to stop and best coffee is Cafe/Hotel Telc 20 m off the main square. Gorgeous little shops to browse through and great cycling for the more active.

Not a very big place, we came mainly for the architecture in the main square. Nice to walk around and see the shops and crafts. Worth popping into the Chateau for a tour as well.

I went by bus from Florenz bus terminal. It took about 3 hours. (Along the way, there was a bathroom break)
