Veveří Castle (Hrad Veveří) is an originally ducal and royal castle some 12 kilometres away from Brno city centre, Moravia, Czech Republic near the dam. A guided tour was a great idea to know more about the history. Really worth seeing.

If you are around Brno and have some spare time, than hop on tram no 1 on Hlavni Nadrazi, get off at Sidliste. Take a boat and enjoy cca 50 minutes until you reach this beautiful castle that overlooks Brno lake. Not much of food...More

I visited the castle on the way to Brno, a wonderful place in nature. The castle has a small museum with various exhibits especially medieval weapons. An ideal place for a picnic with family or friends

We took boat, it is cca 45 minute trip on lake. Castle is not in perfect condition. Many ongoing construction. Very limited opportunity to get lunch, only hot dogs and beer. Overall area is excellent for walk.
