This is really worth it to check out just for the very impressive architecture alone. It is expansive and impressive ftom multiple viewing angles both front and back sides and an important piece of Gdansk history. I recommend seeing whether you are religious or not.

A good Gothic church with many different vaulting patterns and chapels and an impressively substantial west tower. It is also in an interesting area, near Jack's Tower originally part of the city walls, and across from the very imposing Great Mill, erected in the mid-14th century by the Teutonic Order, indicating the source of some of their wealth.

Not completely restored, but this is the oldest church in Gdansk. Not to miss it. You can climb the tower.

You can read all about the history in other reviews and there's information in the church itself making this a must for history buffs and those who enjoy churches and their architecture. The highlight for me was the tiny door to the right of the main entrance for going up to the Bell Tower and higher which has a traffic... More

It is worth a visit to to St. Catherine's Church, if for no other reason to witness the spirit of the Polish people. St Catherine's church is the oldest church in Gdansk, built in 1227. It was almost totally destroyed during WWII, but renovated. In 2006, a fire in the church almost destroyed it again. The parishioners rushed in and... More

Not completely restored and, maybe for this reason, even more nice. You can feel the past and think to have been sent to another time. Fascinating as much as old.

From the outside the brick building looked a little dark and austere but inside it was so light and the various chapels were beautiful with some beautiful statues and icons - well worth the visit which was a stop off point on our city tour.

The eldest of the Old Town churches. Church with very long tradition... and soul. In the tower You can find one of two unusual music instruments in Gdańsk - CARILLON (containing 50 different sized bells). In the tower there is also The Tower Clocks Museum, where You can see the first Pulsar clock - installed in the 2011. In 2006... More
