We enjoyed our day in this former Prussian town of Allenstein - on a Saturday so the Old Town was busy. Worth seeing the castle, Copernicus statue, the old Olsztyn Gazeta building (the editor was killed by the Nazis in a detention camp) and just...More

It's one of the smallest old town I've seen in Poland. Not sure what's going on though with the town as more businesses have been closing down. Unfortunately, the location of the town is not ideal for most tourist. From a personal experience, the town...More

Not a very big square but the buildings and architecture is a sight. Plenty of pubs and restaurant. The good weather is lovely to enjoy a mug or two of the local brewery.

Reconstructions of meieval village living set out in beautiful museum building.Helpful staff, and great bargain tickets. Berautiful setting in old town, surrounded by beautiful grounds, and fast flowing river.

The Old Town of Olsztyn is very cosy. It's not too big, so it's perfect to walk around for an afternoon.

Olsztyn is quite picturesque. If you are into history the old town and castle offer museums, the old city tower, as well as the old town market which today contains various restaurants, and shops. If you are vegetarian or vegan I know for a fact...More

Autumn will bring less touristy atmosphere and cooler weather but kind of in line with the general weather pattern in Europe. I see less crowds as an advantage - visit museums, castle, the cathedral - less distractions.
