Iconic for the beginning of 20th century. How coal mine industrials combined economic performance and better live conditions for the workers. Visit the museum and the so huge church. Visit the streets and yards with headphones lend by the museum. That's worth it to learn about the history of this community.

One of the most interesting places to visit in Katowice. It includes old brick buildings built at the beginning of previous century, interesting church, small square and museum. Use bus line 930 to visit it.

The place is one of the most interesting ones through the city. The second you enter in the district, you feel like you are a part of a majestic story with hidden characters, all the way you hear "music" in the backgrounds and everything around you welcomes you (until you are GKS fan) :)) The cafes and the restaurant are... Today Nikiszowiec is a part of city Katowice. Working-class quarter built between 1908 - 1918. It consists lots of buildings with red brick creating a unique atmosphere. Cool place to make photo from that era.

Read on tripadvisor that this was the place to visit when coming to Katowice. A huge thanks to Tripadvisor for this. This place was fascinating and had a couple of good, relaxing hours here with my woman. Really romantic sitting outside the cafe in the sun sipping on a glass of red wine.. Definetively worth a visit! Historical place

I totally recommend visiting Nikoszowiec. Its style is realy amazing and it is really cool just to walk around. We were there with a guide and i would rather recommend that because you can get to know more about it.

Nikiszowiec basically remains as it was 100 years ago; a planned 3 story red brick apartments with inner courtyards built for the mine workers. The brick buildings just glow in the sunlight. We went to the Ethnographic Museum which detailed the history of the community and included a model apartment (from I think around the mid 1960's) and the communal... More

It has been built to house coal mine workers; the area around Katowice, Silesia, is full of coal mines. The complex included a small hospital, a school, collective facilities, like the laundry building, where all women (!) did their laundry. The museum gives a good picture of the area, although the installed living rooms reflects the house of a middle... More
