This is a legendary cave in the western slope of Wawel Hill. The oldest version of a legend about the dragon of Wawel, related to the mythic beginning of Krakow, comes from the turn of the 13th century.

You can see the Dragon statue standing in front of the cave from Wawel terrace when looking at Visla river. Didn't appeal to us but I can imagine kids like it as the statue belch fire in certain frequency. There is some story that big...More

Essentially a cave with some lights added. A nice if uneven journey down but not really worth paying for.

We could not find a way to access from the top of Wawel Castle. We had to go down to the level below, before walking up the hill, and walk around to the dragon. The dragon erupts with fire every couple of minutes, sorry I...More

12 of us, 4 adults and 8 teens, paid our money and walked the 175 steps down to the cave. A very small cave that we walked through in seconds. At the exit was a man dressed in some sort of medieval costume, on the...More

When you visit Wawel and after all you want to go out, the best way is to „escape” down the hill using Dragons Cave. In easy way you will be on the banks of the Vistula river close to Dragon statue.

It's one of those thing you have to do with children to keep them motivated, especially since it costs only 3 PLN per adult (free for a 4 year old). They love it and the little cave it's OK by itself.

We chose to do it first thing in the castle. We were already tired because of the uphill we had to walk on. We were very sad when we realized that at the end we went out again outside the castle. The attraction itself is...More

Recently visited the dragons den to keep our young one amused whilst in the castle grounds. Not much to see but for a pound for two adults and under 7s free you cant really go wrong. Steep spiral stair case down into the cave and...More

This is another part of the Wawel Castle complex. It costs 2 or 3 zlotys to visit and it is the good way to end a tour of the castle. On entry you descend down a great deal of spiral stairs until you reach the...More
