Located on second floor of Krakow's Cloth Hall, right in the centre of the Main Market Square, is the Gallery of 19th-Century Polish Art. This gallery is definitely on par with the Musée d'Orsay in Paris and the National Gallery in London, and, in some...More

The gallery above the cloth market is quite beautiful in the paintings it possesses however I found the staff immensely rude, ignorant and uninterested in visitors. Security barked at us about bringing in heavy coats though nothing was said at the front desk! It really...More

Small but nicely laid out. Some fine works within. A good place to spend an hour if it’s raining, too hot, etc.

This reflects only 19th cent Poland, when it was carved into 3 and the Austrians and Russians had most effect on Krakow. This gallery is a specific part of the National Gallery collections in Krakow, and reflects on polish artists showing their homeland in the...More

Almost everything by Jan Matejko, and the collection also includes works by Jacek Malczewski, Józef Chełmoński and Stanisław Witkiewicz, as well as Władysław Podkowiński's famous 'Frenzy' from 1894.

Having visited the National Museum in Warsaw, I had already been wowed by the quality of Polish art-just stunning. This museum is the same. While only four large rooms, it’s just a stunning display of Polish paintings and sculpture, well worth the entrance fee. I...More

Amazing Gallery with incredible Paintings. The detail of the mountings of the exceptionally large paintings deserved an accolade. The detail in the paintings themselves rival many in the Mound in Edinburgh.

Quiet place to visit, to make a one hour break off the noisy crowded Rynek downstair. Some famous and large paintings to see, but finally it's a small inventory/display. The bar on the open terrace offers a panoramic view on the Rynek.
