Even though you know it's going to be a sombre visit, do not miss as I think everyone should visit this place once in their lifetime to view the horrific treatment that the Polish/Jews and other nationalities were exposed to during WW2. Heart wrenching.

I was struck by just how 'ordinary' the place is? How can such crimes can ever have taken place here. The museum must be viewed, the exhibits are heart breaking. I was also struck by how well organised the Nazis were in their shameful intentions.

After reading numerous reviews I decided to book with Thomas via email a couple of days before we left the UK (recommended as they only had availability on 1 day of the 4 we were in Krakow.) One of there friendly drivers picked us up from our hotel right on time and on drive (approx 90mins) played a DVD which... More

Auschwitz Berkinaeu is an absolutely the most harrowing somber & erie place we have ever been. However it's a must see to have a full understanding of the history of evils of this factory of brutality & death of Men Women & children.

Well worth a visit, tour guide was outstanding, the knowledge and skills she had was unbelievable, attention to details was fantastic, some restoration project going on at the moment, but didn't take from the experience of the day, delighted we made the effort to travel down from Warsaw , a bit of an early start

We went with a mini but tour from our hotel to both Auschwitz 1 and 2. The guide was very good and informative on the history. It was the most harrowing experience that I have ever been on but suggest to any visitor to Krakow that they go and see. Have small change for the toilets you will need it.... More

It's harrowing but essential to visit. Go in the afternoon as mornings are busy. It's takes a while to get around with a guide, but you can do it yourself with a guide book. Ladies you can only take a small bag in for security purposes.

I feel this is something everyone has to experience in their life time, our guide was fantastic and very knowledagble, the tour was organised to perfection and it run very smooth. When I went it was very cold, but feel that added to the whole experience as the guide told us to imagine what it would be like standing naked... More
