I had visited the quad courtyard during city walking tours on previous visits to Krakow. Whilst this is a visually attractive oasis of calm in a busy city, it is the rooms on the first floor which make this possibly one of the greatest attractions...More

The grand facade is the first aspect of this marvellous institution that came into view. It looked wonderful with the great brick and stone work. The courtyard is a terrific area, voluminous and with the impressive series of archways at ground level. The tour was...More

Unfortunately we were part of a walking tour which did not allow us time to go inside and explore the historic building further. However the courtyard and first-floor balcony are lovely sites to see. Lots of history. Definitely recommend visiting with a local who can...More

We located the square and noticed lots of interesting details as we travelled through the corridors. We found a nice coffee area downstairs to sit and have a quite half hour

It's easy to miss this - the oldest university building in Krakow and where Copernicus studied. The quad just off the street is readily accessible and a step back in time. But the real gem is to tour the rooms on the first floor. Check...More

Sadly we didn't have time to go into the museum part of the university. However the gardens and courtyard were beautiful with stunning architecture. Definitely worth a visit if you have the time.

If you're on your own, then there's not much to see. But if you have a guide then they can tell you about the history and its importance.

Unfortunatellz we had no more time and willingnes to go inside the museum. The inner courtyard is anyway verz nice, so as the garden (acces from outside and arround the corner. As a bonus, tourist can use the free restrooms in inner courtyard.

I would also recommend doing the guided tour in English, it was very informative and the cost was minimal - just over £2 (and half price for me as a senior).
