This is the seat of the oldest university in Kraków. You can visit the courtyard and staircases free of charge during opening hours but it is possible to see several of the professors' rooms and items in the treasury if you go on a guided tour. The tour in English lasts about thirty minutes and is well worth the 12... More

You can visit the courtyard and garden for free, each hour when the clock chimes various figures come out from the small doors that open. For a very small fee you can visit this historic university on a guided tour and it is well worth doing. Plenty to see and the library is great. There is a lovely small wooden... More

The Jagiellonian University is the second oldest university in Europe, and one of the oldest universities in the world. Copernicus and John Paul Ii both studied here, Along with a host of great Polish thinkers. Many of their graduates and students were persecuted and victimized precisely because of their academic excellence. This whole area is permeated with the aura of... More

Stay away from the crowds. You will see ceremonial spaces for the XIV century university, Copernicus working tools, jewels and precious things. And the most impressive three hundred hundred year old wooden staircase. Great value for 12PLN

Visited the Collegium Maius during a free walking tour. Unfortunately the Stained Glass Exhibition was closed. The courtyard was lovley and very atmospheric, a little like Hogwarts!

Try & go for 3 pm when the figures come out & chime. Photography is allowed but no flash. Seeing the old educational tools & parts of the school that are still being used was great. Tip your guide discretely they are students in school & appreciate a little token of appreciation for a job well done.

a conducted tour through the college was one of the highlights for us in Krakow-the assembly hall containing a small portion of the library,Copernicus room & of course the Maius clock above the museum entrance that plays the Uni tune hourly with a procession of figures from Krakow's history parading is fantastic

We only went to the museum to have a stroll around and see the grounds. This in itself was a great way to spend an hour or so if you have the time. Lovely grounds set in such historic buildings.
