One of the most famous of Poland's churches, this Gothic structure features two striking towers, the taller of which is a magnificent Gothic spire with a gold-plated crown built in 1666.

Walking into the massive Church really made me feel as if entering a truly spiritual place. I should have paid the nominal amount to get a "photo license" to take pictures of the incredible Veit Altar. To think this was built while America was a...More

beautiful building inside and out, a token has to be purchased with your entry ticket to allow you to take photos but well worth it

This is a lovely church to visit especially if you are a practicing Catholic. There is a reverence about this church, it is beautiful and at the same time you are inspired by the art and the love of the Polish people for their religion.

Unlike Berlin, Warsaw and Budapest, Krakow was not destroyed in WWII. The buildings in Old Town and the Wawal Royal Castle are the originals dating back 100s of years. This is the exterior of the Church of St Mary, Old Town Krakow Poland. Construction began...More

This is an incredibly valuable attraction that everyone should see. The art is exquisite and it's history is quite amazing. I would've given it a higher rating but I have problems with so much wealth being lavished in this way- certainly a personal issue😒

Prominent feature at the centre of the old town, the church is magnificent both inside and out. The highlight is the 15th century Veit Stoss altar, probably the largest in Europe. Also, if you're outside on the turn of the hour, go to the south...More

What a beautiful church to visit. The altar is amazing to see. Spend an hour or more just sitting and looking to take in everything that is on show.

Is there any way to buy the entrance tickets in advance? Have not found any possibility on their website. Would like to make sure I will be able to enter in time (11.30) when the altar is being open...Planning to visit begging of June so not sure how to avoid possible queues ...

The Altar is opened just before noon and, from what I remember the guide saying, it closes just after 17.00. I wanted to see the Altar closed but never managed to return in time. I hope this helps.

You can see the church without an admission charge at any time, but you cannot get close to the altar. I'm not sure whether admission to the part of the church near the altar is free, but it's not very expensive in any event. More
