I love visiting Krakow and in particular the Kazimierz District ( Jewish Quarter ) to view the amazing faded architecture and the magnificent nightlife. In a district rich in history and an area of significant history to the Jewish people it is rich in fabulous synonymous. We went to the Isaac Synogogue last year were we were educated about this... On Fri evening the place was over crowded, on Shabbat morning, almost empty. Acoustics are terrible, painfully noisy. Place dominated by Chabad, take it or leave it. On the walls you can see remainders of the original deco which is interesting. Otherwise, the place is not in very good shape.

I know it's a place of worship and they have to keep it looking nice but didn't particularly want to pay just to look around!

I was lucky enough to attend a Sabboth service on the 15/07/16. Although I am not Jewish, I have always been fascinated by both the culture & religion, therefore this was a chance not to be missed. I felt honoured that I was offered the chance to attend. Thank you very much.

Great place for klezmer concerts which are four times per week. Lovely exterior. Has a gate around it as do many Jewish synagogues thruout Europe. But a must see

Last year, I wasn't sure if this was an active functioning synagogue. This year, I saw that it is THE busiest functioning synagogue. There were hundreds of worshippers both Friday night and saturday morning. It is administered by the Chabad organization. Be sure to note the painting of Hebrew passages on the walls. It is a good-sized complex and well... More

A friend told me about trying to catch a Klezmer music show at the historic Issac Synagogue. I was lucky enough to be in Krakow when the Tempero Band was playing. While there are other Klezmer music shows at restaurants or other venues, I would highly recommend trying to catch the Tempero Band (or another Klezmer music group) playing in... More
