Wonderful park in autumn

If there is one reason, why visit Krakow in autumn, it's Planty Park. Just try to avoid the large and noisy tourist groups and enjoy the peaceful parts of this park

The park, which I understand from reading about Krakow is where the medieval city walls once where, is a welcome area of nature in the centre of the city, and was very pleasant to walk through.

I stayed in an Apartment next to the St Florians Gate, in the Northern part of the City. The Planty, the Greenery/ Park that rings the city is a breath of fresh air. I really liked Krakow, everything about it, but the Planty offered alternative routes to get around in relaxing surroundings. I liked to get up early, get a... More

What a charming idea. This park was so pleasant to walk through both on the way to see some sites and just for the pleasure of walking without a particular destination in mind. There is a canopy of trees above and plenty of benches if you need to stop & rest. Or you just want to people watch.

This is a pleasant green area that encircles the Old Town and be easily be walked around in an hour or so. It is perhaps a bit of a stretch to call it a park, as it is too narrow for that with no play areas for example that I saw. It is nevertheless a good way to get from... More

If you go along the Park paths, you will circle the entire Old Town (will take about 1 hour or so on foot). Sit down on one of the benches and just do nothing (favorite pastime of Cracow inhabitants) or walk or run to exercise. Find a cafe along your way. The Park is built in the site of old... More

This is a clean, fresh and safe park, which provided shelter from the summer heat and an opportunity to people watch before continuing your day.

Great walk during a day, benches everywhere. Lots of trees, so you can hide before sun. It goes around old town, so you are only one step from every main attraction.

Planty park circles the city of Krakow so you can escape the madness of shopping in a few mins walk. I rented a bike with my boyfriend which was so cheap and we cycled the distance around the city. Most of the ground is flat and was a nice thing to do during the day.
