I obviously didn't do my research before visiting as I thought there would be more info on the concentration camp in Krakow and the experience of working in the factory. Majority of displays were about general life just prior to the invasion and during the occupation. Little information on how Schindler orchestrated his business and buyout of Jewish prisoners. Quite... More

As a historian in training of this time period, Oskar Schindler's Factory was at the top of my list to visit when I went to Krakow last summer. The museum is incredibly large and has amazing artifacts. You could easily spend over half of the day there. The museum spans the time period before the German occupation of Krakow to... More

I spent from 11am -8pm reading everything and watching every video. My only breaks were for food and you know. It was brilliant. The design and layout are on a smaller room scale and different than perhaps you might think; but very experiential. Regardless of whatever you would think could/should be better, it is still rather amazing and heartfelt. Tips:... More

Our 2.5 hour Free Walking Tour of the Jewish Quarter ended at the factory where Oscar Schinder healed save Jewish lives by using them as slave labour in return for food and protection. Entry is free on Mondays, or the Free Walking Tour company organise a paid tour after the walking tour. That takes stamina!

Having visited Auschwitz the day before, I found that this gave me some hope. It was a really interesting visit - it really brought home to us just how quickly life changed for the Poles when the Nazis invaded. There is first hand testimony from some of the people Schindler saved, and some interesting installations which I found to be... More

This was a bit of a suprise. The museum details a history of Poland in pictures and memorabilia, including the German Occupation and the appalling treatment of the people, in particularly the Jewish population. There is only a small section on Schindler himself. The museum is modern and is of the experential type and well worth a visit if you... More

We spent the morning in this museum. I was very impressed the way the historical facts were presented to the visitor.

A very interesting visit, good value, you can spend as long as you want to get round this experience. Not for people with poor mobility. Quite a few steps and uneven surface in places, however lots of seats dotted round to take a rest.

This was one of the first things we did in Krakow. It is a nice walk from the city, over the river. We just turned up and bought tickets on the door. We waited about 15 minutes and then you are free to walk around taking in the incredible history. There is a small cinema inside, showing a film of... More

Very good museum. A lot of important history to be faced here. I recommend reading before to have a better perspective when visiting. Gives a lot to think about.
