Many reviewers are confusing this market with a place called Plac Nowy in the former Jewish quarter of the city. Nowy Kleparz is in Kleparz just north of the old town. Few, if any tourists visit this lively people's market where prices for fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, dairy, flowers and daily necessities are generally lower than in the new fancy supermarkets. Nice place to get a feel of local Krakow life.

It is one of those places that is a little bit further from the Main Market Square but a worth seeing if you are in Krakow for more than a weekend.
Want to blend with local people and experience real Krakow? this is a place for you - go and explore! buy fresh apples, strawberries, and whatever else is the season for. This is the place where people buy their Christmas trees. if you have seen Stary Kleparz - this is a very similar place.

I love traditional markets: the colors, the smells, local people doing their things.
This was close to my hotel on the way to Rynek G., I was very happy to step by.
I especially liked the fruits, veggies and flowers, I was really tempted by large baskets of raspberries but was happy enough to just take pics of them.

The first day we were here, we bought all of our groceries at nowy kleparz. Vegetables and fish were really fresh and taste and the atmosphere is really nice! :-)

We first came here on a walking tour a came back on a number of occasions to eat drink and soak up the vibe. This is a happening place. open air concerts take place on the roof of the central dias, there are street stalls selling, healthy fruit and veg, stalls selling less healthy but a must eat sausage and pickle treat, Zapiekanka, restaurants, we tried Barfly and Alchemia, also had a drink at the Komiseriat, graffiti abounds the walls and there are many post communist relics on view. The street market was there on the Tuesday and Thursday we visited, not sure about the weekend. Our favourite bit in Krakow with a great neighbourly buzz. Alchemia has a wardrobe connecting the two bars which is a new touch on "The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe"

We visited this market on a sunday and that was apparently not the best day. A few stalls we open, but is was not like we had expected. Probably better on onter days!

Never visited the market but I did visit the round structure in the centre of Plac Nowy ,home to lots of kiosks serving fast food such as fries ,the famous Polish pizza called Zapiekanka and doner kebabs ,it's popular with both locals and tourists alike ,it's the beating heart of the Jewish Quarter and well worth checking out if you're planning a trip to Krakow and easy to locate on Plac Nowy.

We wished we'd headed to this lively public market the day we arrived in Krakow. Numerous stalls sold fresh fruit and vegetables,; but others offered smoked and fresh meats and fish, cheeses and yogurt, and prepared local favorites such as pierogi. Along one wall, flower dealers transformed the place into a veritable botanical garden. Trams and buses offer easy access from any part of the city. This market is definitely worth a look even if you plaan to do all your eating in restaurants.

Worth taking this in as part of a tour of the former ghetto area. A pretty eclectic selection of stuff which included some alarming Nazi memorabilia (Jewish armbands and rubber stamps for marking "Jude" on paperwork)

Bargains to be had, however, there are lots of stalls with the most beautiful flowers for sale obviously for the locals not something a tourist is likely to buy
