If you have never previously visited a coal mine I would thoroughly recommend visiting Guido. I found it extremely interesting and our guide was very informative.

A very cool experience. We did the full tour. We had to change clothing to a full miner outfit. Includes boots, helmet, Headlamp and emergency safety oxygen supply. Approx 7 kilo. We went 350 meter underground by sometimes impassable corridors. A three hour tour by a miner who worked over 35 years in the coalmines. We got tasks as assembling/disassembling... More

Very good insight into mining history of the Śląsk region. Interesting and entertaining it's a great tour into hard lives of tough people that used to work here. Recommended.

I loved the Guido mine, it was my first time at a mine and I was able to learn about the history of this particular mine and how it works, the guide was really nice and fun and at the end of the tour there is a small cafe where I had the opportunity to try a beer which was... More

I visited level 320, in AUgust 2016 with small child, age 7. The experience was very enjoyable, starting from going in the lift, then in the underground corridors, and listening to interesting storries and watching displays/ equipment from past times and more contemporary times. At the end of the visit, it is possible to visit a pub, however it shuts... More

This is a review of Sztolnia Krolowa Luiza that is not included in TripAdvisor yet. This is a must to visit place for families with kids. Very nice underground tour with Polish (only) guide. Very interesting not only for someone who know something about coal mines but also for someone who does know nothing about mines and people who work... More

We visited levels 170 and 320. The whole experience was well worth the time. Our guide was very knowledgeable, easy going to funny. He was happy to answer all our questions. It took more than 3 hours to visit both levels. Make sure to bring comfortable shoes and clothing as a lot of walking is involved in the tour. You... More

Phone reservation for tour in level 320 run without problems (anyway you should be able to say some important words like the date, time and which tour you want in polish). I was in group of 5 persons, I participated on a tour in polish language. I had to listen with attention to understand all the words/meaning - also thanks... More

The Guido mine hasn't been used for coal extraction for 80 years serving now as a very interactive museum. There are two kinds of pit visits, a short one at 170m below the surface and a longer one at 320m. The visits are noisy, dusty and require a certain fitness and flexibility (walking at very low head height) but they... More
