Lovely to stand on top of the mountain as the views across Poland and Slovakia were spectacular. The cable car ride was really inexpensive and quick and the added bonus of a mountain top cafe was great 😊 Loved it 😊
The cable car is great. Beats hiking up to ridge trails. Buy your ticket downtown on kuprowski street or at kiosk at dirt upper level. The long lines you see when you get there are for those wanting to buy 1/2 priced tickets. Its worth...More
Waiting for 4 hours in a queue is unacceptable! Signs along the queue line must at least indicate the approx waiting time. Also we were unable to buy tickets online on the day or for the next! Incredible! The view above once reaching the top...More
Kasprowy Wierch is one of the main attractions in Polish Tatra Mountains, however, if you don't buy tickets for Cable Car in advance, you will have to wait most likely for several hours to get your ticket and get into the cable car.
This was a great experience on a top notch cable car going to the top of Tatra Mountains.. The cars were large, well maintained and operated to perfection. Staff was excellent and helpful. It was a sight to behold with gorgeous views of the Tatra...More
We wanted to do a walk along the Ridge but were unable to book online even though there were timing slots available. We thought we'd turn up to get tickets on the day (which are 30 zlotys cheaper than the pricey 99 zlotys online price)...More

We were looking forward to riding this cable car so we could hike at the top. Unfortunately when we were told reservations might be a good idea, they were already booked solid. Therefore we hiked the National Park but at a different location.

We just bought tickets at the bottom of the cable car entrance. There was no queue in late June.
I believe you can also book online but then you are risking the weather which can be very wet in Zakopane.

Are you accustomed to mountain hiking, or are both you and your kid novices? In the former case it is fine (but I would take hiking poles to ensure your steps more stable), in the latter I would not attempt it - carrier is great as long as you can be sure of yourself not to slip. The comments about taking a guide are stupid, there is absolutely zero risk of getting lost or losing the trail or anything else where the guide would've helped - the risk is you losing your step which is much easier with carrier than without it. If you go, definitely do not take the direct green trail to Kuźnice, without carrier that'd be the easiest option but there is too high a risk of skidding down on the rock rubble. The option you can consider is yellow trail to Hala Gąsienicowa and then blue trail to Kuźnice. The steepest then is the beginning of yellow trail, if she can walk this beginning by yourself the rest will be easier for you.

it's best to pre-book. You either buy tickets online or in Zakopane (several places, e.g. tourist information centre up Krupówki street, or at ticket machines down at Krupówki or at Gubałówka). Then at the cable car you have separate (priority) queue for those who pre-booked. Hope this helps.
