We could not get into the science centre Hydropolis as it was so busy, so we were at a loose end. As we walked to the science centre we saw the river cruises on the Odra, so we went back and bought our tickets. We had a pleasant time going up to the centre of town and back with plenty of nice views. It is very relaxing to let the boat take the strain. The river boat we were on had a bar below decks so you could purchase refreshments if required.

The day was beautiful, and 8 of us decided to see the city by water. We waited on one side of the river for what was billed as a 10:45 ride, only to find out from a laconic cruise employee that the cruise would in fact leave at 11:15 from Cathedral Island, a short walk across the river. So much for signs. The hour long trip was relaxing and uninterrupted by canned music or any narrative. We were able to trace our route and point out landmarks on the maps we brought along. The staff was efficient, but not friendly, probably because most of the passengers spoke English and they did not. We were never informed that we could get off at the zoo and return on a later cruise. There was no literature on the river cruises available at the hotel and the concierge couldn't provide any details, either. I'm sure that as this part of Poland becomes more known to western travelers, all this will change. But it was a lovely hour on the river.

I would write it as Oder....There aren't any overnight "cruises" on the Oder River. And it's difficult for elderly or handicap to board these cruises due to a number of steps to get down to the river.
Options: small boats for about 20-30 people
There are several small boats operating in Wroclaw ("Gucio", "Maja", "Kaczuszka" and other), their routes and prices change almost every year. Their usual start point is located on Piaskowa Island, next to the Market Hall and Ostrów Tumski. The approximate cost for one person - 40 minute cruise - is 15 PLN. There are also night cruises available that cost about 20-25 PLN / person (very romantic!). There is also the so-called water tram that runs from the harbour on Ostrow Tumski - you can choose long 40 minute cruise for 15 PLN or just a short ride to the opposite river bank for 5 PLN.
Modern yacht - cruise boat Jazz-Funboat
You can rent the whole luxurious boat for a party (there is a bar, wc and a grill on board, 14 people max, 400 PLN/hour) or just take part in a 40 minute cruise for 25 PLN. The start point is located next to the Topacz Marina on Księcia Witolda Street 2 (the so-called Uniwersytecka Harbour). Home website: www.funboat.pl (English version under construction but there is an email available: info@funboat.pl)
Kayaks, motor boats and small boats for individual activities
There is a small marina (called Zatoka Gondoli) located right next to the National Museum and close to the Panorama Raclawicka. You can rent a 2-person kayak for 10 PLN/hour, a small rowing boat (gondola) for 20 PLN/hour or a motorboat for 70 PLN (motorboats are not available in high season when the traffic the river is big).

We took an hour boat ride that went as far as the zoo. There was no information given but we used our guide books and signs to try and figure out what we were seeing. The ride was very pleasant and restful at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. The area was beautiful and enhanced by the fact it was the last tour of the day around sunset. It would have been improved with at least an audio tour. Still, I highly recommend it.

We went on an afternoon till night tour..just marvellous. On the boat there was dinner, barbecue, with lots of wine and beer!!! The scenery was out of a fairy tail and the sound of the boat sliding the river unique! If you really want to take something with you back home, this is a must!!!

Make sure you rent a boat and do the river cruise. You get a different view of the cathedral and architectures from the river.

Did the 45 minute boat cruise from the main boat rental place It was fun but no commentary and it basically travelled the area that we had walked by the river to get there. On the way back we stopped at one of the decking bars and a small boat from there did cruises with Beer and English comentary. It looked a much better deal.

Wroclaw is often thought of as a kind of venice with it's numerous islands and the river is a major feature of this emerging Polish Gem. Stand on one of the numerous bridges and wait for your lover or imagine yourself in a cold war spy film.

Is it ok to bring dogs on boat trips?

Ciao, potreste darmi qualche indicazione sui punti di imbarco per il giro in battello? ci sono diverse opzioni per i giri (percorso, durata, imbarcazione, ecc). quanto costa indicativamente e quanto dura il giro?
grazie anticipatamente a chi vorrà fornirmi qualche informazione.

We are visiting at the end of November, do the boats still operate and where from?
Written November 14, 2016
For Info about boat rides
search Wroclaw River Cruises on tripadvisor
Unfortunately open only April-October. But, if you walk near the river banks and Ostrów Tumski - the Cathedral Island look around maybe something will be available if the weather is nice. I am not sure of this, just a wild guess.

We are coming for a holiday in late September. Do we have to book in order to enjoy a tour on the river? Thanks
Written August 13, 2016
You do not need to book. You will probably arrive before the boat tour begins so you can purchase the tickets on sites. It is usually the case with all boat trips around Europe.
