Might have been a bad day but staff wasn't helpful for any of the questions we raised. The castle itself isn't very impressive but if you are in Lublin, you might want to visit.

The castle itself is a moderately interesting museum. The gem is the Royal Chapel, which is fully painted in gorgeous polychrome scenes that were covered in plaster until the 20th century. Not to be missed.

The castle Zamek, was used as a prison during WWII. The climb to the top of the tower gives you a great view of Lublin.

Last time I went on tour of the castle was a few years ago. From the outside the building is really pleasant to the eye. It is located almost in the centre of the city, on a small rise. Its walls are bright and one...More

Lublin Castle is a great place to survive a rainy day. You can spend a lot of time in the museum and and castle buildings.

Once a royal castle, then a prison (used by the Nazi's during WW2), now a museum. Great view if you enter the castle tower, also at night.

We visited the Lublin Castle recently, only to learn that it was closed for a couple of days due to some festival. While we were unable to visit the rooms, we were able to walk around the interior courtyard. I'd love to go back to...More

You must see that Gothic interior covered with the Byzantine-Ruthenian polychromes. This the place where East and West really meet. Very spiritual and very beautiful. Worth visiting but try to plan your visit in advance - the museum has to limit the number of tourists...More

The chapel is astonishing. all those details almost overwhelm you and it is very well preserved. There is also information available in English with the explanation of every scene painted on the walls and ceiling. It is for sure a must do in the city...More
