Most of the museum are actually paintings. I would classify it as a gallery. In a National Museum, I would expect to learn about the nation and country history through a collection of its arts and artefacts. This is not the case in this institution. Nevertheless, for a paintings lover, this is a large gallery. The museum closes at 3... More

Great collection of art, carefully displayed, really like the space. Nice and firendly staff, very helpful. The weather was horrible and we had to cancel other plans- that's why we ended up in there but boy was I happy that we did! And it was mostly empty, very quiet, so it was a great experience. I will definitely start my... More

The National Museum offers several exhibitions connected with local and national history and art. What's more there's always a special, temporary exhibition.

A large collection of mostly paintings and some sculptures. Polish and foreign. Especially worth attention are the great works of impressionists and expressionists. The museum is divided into the old historic building with beautiful ornaments and the new modern three-story house. Perfect to immerse yourself into the thick atmosphere of art on a rainy day.

Didn't have a lot of time but I spent about 90 minutes skimming the museum. Mostly Polish art with which I am not familiar. Pleased to find some wonderful examples of impressionism as well as some early Church and Political art

This museum offers a nice collection of Polish and other European paintings, it struck me as an alternate version of Louvre. They have a tour guide who walks you through all details in fluent English. You're also introduced to the fact that a lot of the museum's collection was stolen by Nazis during the second world war. Next time I... More
