If you visit the Old Town you cannot fail to come across this statue in the square, located near to many other attractions and in a "car free" zone with street artists and cafe's all around the area as you wander around the Royal Castle and Old Town area of the City.

This is where you enter the Old Town. There some interesting facts about this column. It was destroyed during the war and you can actually see the bullet holes on the base, which is the only part that remains original. The rest of the original column is displayed a few steps away, or at least what remains of it. There... More

Its a sight that will stay with you even if it is quite a short visit. Close to many bars and cafes so you can overlook it while enjoying something good to eat/drink.

You wont miss this Monument ( Column) if you are within the Castle square. This monument Is 72 ft tall and the statue is made from Bronze Granite. This monumnet was completed in 1644 and is dedicated to King Sigismund III Vasa who had moved the Capital city of Poland from Krakow to Warsaw back in 1596

An impressive column towering over the castle square. Adds a central point to the square and can get a good photo from the street.

King Sigismund is not the favourite king for the people from Cracow, because at the end of the 16th c he decided to move the capital of Poland from Cracow to Warsaw :) The column is one of the landmarks of Warsaw. A rallying point for political manifestations and cultural events.

Tall column passed on the way back from the Little Insurgent Statue. Nice photo opportunity, not too busy on a cold day.

King Sigismund's Column is located in the middle of the castle square. Great to take photos there. Nice, but not the main attraction in this area.

I read that the older columns were on the grass beside the castle and they were! It was really awesome to see all of the statues that King Sigismund has stood on top of!
