This is a wonderful statue to the mathematical genius and astronomer Nicklaus Copernicus. The statue is huge and certainly hard to miss on Warsaws most pretty street namely Krakowskie Przedmiescie. The statue is a great meeting place and makes for some great photographic opportunities in the Old Town and coupled with the amazing architecture along Nowy Swiat makes for a... More

Great statue to one of the 2 most famous people of Poland (the other being Chopin). Poles seem to be very proud of Copernicus in a different way to other countries and it is good to see. I wonder what the connection to Warsaw is, as Copernicus is more closely associated with Torun - but what the hell, they can't... More

This is right on Novy Swiat, so chances are you will pass by it when you're walking towards the Old Town. It's a rather big figure of the great Copernicus, and on the floor there are some really cool images of the solar system. I loved it!

Easily found and really enjoyable, the statue design and detail is awesome and is a time to met up with a great mathematician and astronomer, also if you manage to get tickets for the Copernicus Science Centre give it a go.

The famous Polish astronomer is remembered by this emblematic statue that have a nice small square around where is represented a model of the Solar System. The monument is one of the fewest in Warsaw not to be destroyed by the Nazis as they claimed that Copernicus was German and not Polish.

One of 3 monuments of Copernicus in Poland. The great Polish astronomer who "stopped the sun and moved the earth" is now mostly a meeting place for students of the nearby University.

Found this by chance when walking from The Old Town to Nowy Swiat. Surrounded by students in the university campus, on the main thoroughfare. Good photo spot.

Copernicus looks out over his own little domain. He sits in his own square by Old Town. It was really cool to be able to walk by him and see him a few times.

Yet another monument to add to your Wishlist. Very easy to find, just head towards Nowy Świat street which is the continuation of Krakowskie Przedmieście street.
