Having just arrived from Krakow and it's market square, this one did not quite compare, though it was good to see and to learn a little about Warsaw. It was nice walking about and seeing the old (reconstructed) city walls.

You have not seen Poland unless you enter past the wall into Old Town. The boots are interesting. My favorite was the booth with two blacksmiths working at a forge. The walk is easy for anyone. You can easily get a drink, coffee or ice cream here.

The square is in the center of the old town, and is amazing. The square was completely destroyed during the World War. Almost accurately restored after the war. Today it is one of the declared sites of UNESCO. Very nice place.

We visited in January when the skating park was there, surrounded by mulled wine sellers. Nice lights. Unable to get near the mermaid statue. Would like to visit in the summer

A beautiful central square flanked by awesome, elegant buildings. It has a great vibe with a lovely mix of tourists and locals. Great bars and restaurants around. A lovely spot.

We went on January when everything was covered in snow and an ice skating center was in the square! Around it there were little kiosks with sausages, pierogi and hot wine or chocolate! Very nice! There are many coffee shops and restaurants around to visit and some shops for traditional polish souvenirs!

If you are spending even only a short time in Warsaw you must visit the part of the city to get a feel of its past.

There is little point writing a separate review of the market square when I've already reviewed the Old Town and the square is smack in the middle of it, so the review covers it too. However, here goes: Anyone who visits the Old Town will find themselves in the square at some point, and from the way things look there... More

You can easily make a whole day of Royal Palace and walking back and forth through streets of Market Square and Old Town. Shops, restaurants, beautiful buildings.
