It is hard to believe that none of this area existed after the second world war and that it has been rebuilt exactly the same. There are lots of bars and restaurants where you can sit and watch the visitors and children playing in the...More

The square itself is lined with picturesque shops and houses, with a fountain in the centre. Some souvenir shops and restaurants nearby. Check out the chimney cakes! In December, there is a small Christmas Market and a ice skating rink. At night, with the lights...More

Nice area to visit with lots of shops, some Xmas markets and plenty of cafes. Local Amber Jewellery available in a few good shops.

I disagree with other reviewers. Although small, compared to Bruxelles, it has all the charm of a French market town square surrounded by many restaurants and bars and at Christmas, a lovely festive feel about it and loads of hot spiced wine. lovely.

This is a really beautiful square and there was an ice rink and Christmas stalls when we visited. Amazing to think that this whole area was rubble after WW2 and now is just full of life and shops

Comparing to Gdansk, Poznan or Cracow - very disappointing. I feel like in some crowded yard. It isn't worth seeing.

...beautiful vibe during the Christmas period. Chrismas markets are full of people and yumny food, hand made souvenirs. Great atmosphere with the old town in the background.

The Old Town Market Square is nothing overly special particularity if you've been to some other old towns in Europe; that said it's a picturesque area that's fairly pleasant to visit although some of the shops are a bit of a tourist trap.

I asked a long-time Warsaw resident (my taxi driver) where to go while on a short trip to Warsaw. He recommended “Old Town” and I have NO regrets ! The architecture was amazing. The area was alive with people gathering on a Sunday afternoon !!

Its not an open air market. Restaurants are open late and some tourist shops are open pretty late.
