For me the district is well worth a visit.
No massive skyscrapers, not many ( if at all ) souvenir shops but plenty to see.
National football stadium, Wendell chocolate factory ( and shop to try the great chocolate drink ), street art, the old Rozycki Bazaar ( bit of a let down ), Vodka Museum and St Florian Cathedral. There’s a good shopping mall in the centre with food hall and usual shops.
Wonder around the old streets with local restaurants and bars, plenty of trams.
Lots of history, the old shrines down the alley ways and stone dwarfs that act as gate stoppers.

Like others on this page we had read that Praga is like the revitalised Bohemian part of Warsaw, similar to Uzipis in Vilnius. But it is nothing like it. We had seen on line and on google maps that there was a lot of street art but we could only find a couple of examples. The Cathedral of St Michael the Archangel was impressive but we were there late afternoon and so could not enter as it was closed, and there were good views of the old town as we walked back over the bridge, but really a wasted few hours. Perhaps if we had visited with a guide it would have been better.

Praga was largely spared the mass destruction wrought by the Germans in WW2, when all of Warsaw was flattened while the Soviet army stood and watched from Praga side. There are many old tenement blocks with hidden courtyards to be discovered, many of them featuring kapliczkas, or neighborhood chapels. Many of the facades of blocks lining the streets were defaced, when the Soviets removed decorations, in order to show solidarity with the common people. However many buildings still sport pretty little iron balconies with flowers, reminding a bit of Parisian street ambiance. Nice area to have a walk about.

We went here in the middle of day, but did not found anything interesting. You can save your time and skip this place. Or if you still plan to visit, you should come in evening when nightlife starts.

Just over 10 years ago, this was considered a dangerous area for visitors according to local information. The metro has its final station here and the area has changed radically.
Now residential developers seem to have put their claws in the area, even if one and the other house shows an unlikely decay.

We read reviews that said this is the place we must see but it's just not worth your time. We were wandering around but to be honest we don't even know what we saw...

The area with plenty of cafe-bars and restaurants. Each of the places is very unique. The food, drinks and interior design. This district was neglected for a lot of years. You will be finding buildings which are very old and holding still markings on their walls from WWII. In some courtyards you may find shrines which were built during WWII and some of them before. Each of them has it's own history and style.

Took a while to find the old town as taxi driver dropped us off at the wrong area, but we got the number 23 tram and got off at the Zoo area The stop is Park Praski you will see the big old church red brick.and the park on the opposite side.We didn’t see as much as we’d like as spent so much time trying to find our way there. But we had a stroll in the park and a look around the town had a couple of drinks and enjoyed the day would go back again

Old ruined houses at Brzeska street gives imagination of old Praga district with all the strange people around and the dirt. Bazaar there. Bars. Now more cyvilised and fashioned. Run to see the old.

Before we go to Warsaw we read so many articles about Praga saying that its an alternative and upcoming district and it defenatelly worth the visit. We went there and we have to say that its nothing like these.People seem rude and the city is dirty .It is most like a Russian hood district. There were russians fighting in the road and if you see any of them in their eyes you can get punched too.Dont watse your time there.

Hello. I am doing some research on 19th Century Praga Polnoc, and I was wondering if you might know how one might have traveled from Praga Polnoc to the Jewish quarter of Warsaw. Also, how long it might have taken, what route one might have traveled. Any light you can shed on this would be much appreciated. Many thanks.
