An island on the middle of the lake Bled is very nice and romantic. The lake beach is a bit crowdy but still very nice. Near by there is a lot of restaurants and walking paths. On the Island there is a nice little church...More

Whether they take a tourist boat or a rowing boat, everyone sooner or later goes across Lake Bled to the island. The tourist boats are in good condition and are very attractive. The price is not too bad. However you do not get rowed around...More

An island in a lake seemed always mystical to me and if there is a church built on an ancient temple on that island it gets more and more mystical. You must take a boat and pay at least 14€ per person to reach the...More

The island is a very nice place, but there is not much to do there. We rented a rowboat (what I recommend) and the trip alone was a better exporience. You can climb the tower and ring the bell, but there is also an entry...More

The island is reached by a short boat trip. I went twice during my holiday. Once by the electric boat and once by a rowed pletna boat. The church is tiny and there is a charge of 6 euros to go inside where you can...More

We did not feel like sharing a boat and opted for one of the smaller private rowboats. These are available for rent at several locations around the lake shore, some of which are closer to the island, which means shorted distance to row and less...More

Not much to do here - but who needs anything other than the views? The best thing is probably the peaceful journey if you are rowed out here.

This iconic, picture perfect signature of Lake Bled is small but special, and very popular. So try to get a boat over there early to miss the crowds and enjoy the lovely location in the quiet. And remember to ring the church bells and make...More

Hello we are coming in late January. We would like to skate to the church on the lake. How would we accomplish this? what would our starting point be and do we need to bring our own skates?

Hi there! Skating in the lake is free for everyone. Even better if you have your own skates so you don't need to rent. But please ask the locals on which side is best to skate. The good point is if you go to "Villa Bled... More

My wife and I are healthy seniors. We're doing a quick tour of Slovania and the north tip of Croatia this June just before a one week bike tour in Austria. How does this plan look to you? Fly from Dallas, TX to Ljubljana and pick up rental car and spend first night there. Day 2 drive to Rovinj, Croatia for one night. Day 3 drive to Piran for one night. Days 4 and 5 go to Bled for 2 nights and local touring. Day 5 drive to Salzburg and return rental car and begin bike tour the next day. Any suggestions on activities, sites, lodging, restaurants (my wife in vegetarian), etc? Thanks for your suggestions. Sam from Texas
