Barbara took us up to the top of the top of the castle and pointed out the sights of the city to us. She said that we could see one fifth of all of Slovenia from there! We could even see the alps!! She knew so much about the castle as she had gotten married there a few months ago.... More

When you visit Ljubljana the castle is a must visit. It's a very well done attraction, with great views, interesting history, and the city is very proud of it, as they should be. You have to take the funicular up from the old towne and your ticket also includes addimission to the castle itself. The castle grounds itself includes: the... More

Going up to the castle offers a nice romantic walk. The view on Ljubljana and the surrounding snow covered mountains is absolutely breathtaking. Try to plan 2-3 hours get to see the different towers. They have sometimes temporary exhibition inside. And of course, try to be there for sunset.

We took a hike up, around 10 minutes, it wasn't a steep climb. The castle is nice, but the view from there is really great. I'm a fan of views and this is a place where you can see the city. The river is really narrow, so from up there it isn't all that visible, but the old town looks... More

From the old town looking up, the castle is impressive and pretty. Inside though it is not much more than a shell (mostly taken up by a cafe and a couple of shops) and a few side rooms turned into small art installations. Very little feel of its history and even less information about it. If you are pushed for... More

The inside of the castle is just ok. A bit of a boring video and pretty sparse rooms. Views over city are great. Wouldn't feel bad about skipping a visit inside the castle.

I only had a short time in Ljubljana so, as soon as the weather was good, I headed up to the Castle. The funicular only took about a minute. The Castle isn't particularly big, although it looks imposing when looking up from the Old Town. The main draw is the great view of the City - which is free! My... More

You can walk, take the. After train for the tram. The structure is beautifully displayed during the evening hours with brightly colored lights once you arrive you find the center of the castle an open structure with furious on businesses and restaurants around the periphery. This makes it a very intriguing location To visit. I highly recommend going and visiting... More

If you want to enjoy amazing views of Ljubljana, you shouldn’t miss the Ljubljana castle. It is only a short pleasant walk from the city center. There is no general entrance fee for cruising around the yard and going up the walls to admire the scenic views (if you want to see some parts of the castle and climb up... More

The castle itself is very simple, but the views of the city are spectacular. Full 360 degree views. The walk up to the castle is at times a bit steep, but not very long at all.
