This is a square close to the main square that plays host to the farmers market. If you want to see the market, don't go late, most of them pack up early in the evening. Many interesting shops and restaurants in the vicinity.

Very logically set open air market with extremely beautiful fruits, vegetables, special meat products, homemade dairy staff, bio food, a wide selection of green herbs, salads. So tempting that all you want to buy at once.

This is the town square which is now used as the Central Market. It is situated between Dragon Bridge across Pogacar Square to the Triple Bridge. It is named after Valentin Vodnik ( 1758-1819) who was both a priest, a poet and a journalist who was the first real poet in the Slovene language and strove to promote the Slovene... More

I loved the Farmer market at Vodnik Square - they have everything starting wild organic honey and finishing fresh cheeses and cured meats. My favorite thing to buy is preserved mushrooms - I can't get it anywhere else, definitely not in the U.S. Everything is extremely affordable.

As this is the market for locals, it's open 365 days a year. Fresh fruit and vegetables. Prices are good and people are helpful.

I was lucky enough to visit Ljubljana during the Slovenian carnival and, whilst checking the parade, we went to check the fresh market I had read about on the internet. The market is located after the triple bridge on the left, and the stalls sell a wide selections of products, from local fruits and veggies, to local spirits and clothes.... More

a visual treat when we were there (in late August) at the height of the market for fresh produce. An amazing variety of locally harvested stone fruits and mushrooms

Vodnik Square is Ljubljana's open air market between St. Nicholas' Cathedral and the Dragon Bridge. The square is named for a man of letters who wrote poetry in his native Slovenian. He published a native language newspaper, and was influential in introducing Slovenian into the school systems.
