Castle and Old town

Both worth a visit, best Christmas lights ever and lovely Christmas market. Everyone very friendly and English is widely spoken. Food was great

A charming little town that is well worth the visit for a weekend break. It was such a pleasure just strolling around the lovely streets as well as along the river. There was a really nice variety of restaurants and bars. I recommend a walking tour to appreciate the historical significance of some of the areas (e.g. the triple bridge,... More

This is a charming old city. The river snakes its way through the town. There is a wonderful cathedral. When we visited there was a chant filling the space. Dragon bridge should not be missed. The market had a variety winter veg and fruits. Overlooking it all is the castle.

Although it is the capital city, Ljubljana is a small and magic place. The Old Town is just beautiful, like in a fairy tale. People are really friendly and nice, there are plenty of places to eat and also to have a drink at night. You have everything you need at your fingertips: we attended a classical music concert for... I visited Ljubljana for the first time, and was a solo traveller. The city itself is relatively small for a capital city with a population of around 270,000 and this is reflected in the small but beautiful Old Town area. Fully pedestrianized, but watch out for bycycles and electric buggy style transport, it appeared to be safe to pedestrians. The... More

Ljubljana surprised me by how beautiful and organIzed it was. It is easy to get around and the dragon bridges are must see. They are the green capital for 2016 and they really try to make that happen. So many shops and cafes to eat at. I could spend days here
