I visited Ljubljana for the first time, and was a solo traveller. The city itself is relatively small for a capital city with a population of around 270,000 and this is reflected in the small but beautiful Old Town area. Fully pedestrianized, but watch out for bycycles and electric buggy style transport, it appeared to be safe to pedestrians. The... More

Ljubljana surprised me by how beautiful and organIzed it was. It is easy to get around and the dragon bridges are must see. They are the green capital for 2016 and they really try to make that happen. So many shops and cafes to eat at. I could spend days here

A pleasant stroll in the old city during autumn. It's not a big area so you can easily find your way area. After visiting the Prešeren Square, Dragon Bridge, Butcher's Bridge, The Cathedral of St.Nicholas, you can just take a break and enjoy a nice warm drink and its charming surroundings at one of the many cafes and restaurants by... The old town is small by larger city standards, but it is none the less charming and pretty. They have nice restaurants, cafes and wine shops everywhere. Stroll along the river where there are lots of outdoor cafes.

What a little jewel box of a town. It was said to be a mini version of Prague and it was! The old town area is only about 4 blocks wide by 8 blocks long and straddles a river so you can cover most of it in 1 day A walk up the hill to the castle takes you through... More
