Postojna Cave is the best-known cave in the world. It is also the greatest tourist attraction in Slovenia and one of the world's largest karst monuments. A fantastic web of tunnels, passages, galleries and halls, the astonishing diversity of Karst features as well as easy access are certainly the main reasons for such popularity of the cave and a large number of visitors. These caves are one of the largest in Europe. We met at the entrance where we were greeted in the language of our choice to complete the tour. Our guide was Monica, she was great . The full tour takes approx 2 hours and you...More

I booked tickets to Postojna Cave for my wife and I without really knowing what to expect. I had seen a few promotional videos online about it and Googled pictures of it, but as I found out, photos and videos hardly do it justice. It...More

My husband and I planned going here last minute, and it was well worth it. We lived 2-3 hours away and got there right on time. Although it does require lots of walking so comfortable shoes ARE recommended! My daughter loved the train ride. It...More

This a very magical place and is a must see when you are in Slovenia. It is about a 90 minute tour and part of that you are on a train through the caves. We had a great tour guide that explained everything to us...More

The whole experience is magical. I wish we had more time to fully take it all in, since everywhere you turn, there is something special. Lasts 1,5 h and you get to see the “human fish” and its tiny 4-finger legs.

These are pretty spectacular caves. You cannot see the caves without being on a tour though. This meant that despite arriving on the bus at about 12:30 we had to wait until the next tour at 3pm. We didn't know what to do so we...More

We visited the caves in January and we usually visit many caves...they are very big and huge, but there aren't any particular rock formations. An electric train leads you to the internal part of the cave and then you walk for 1,5 km. The temperature...More

This is a massive cave system (24 km) with only several kilometers open to the public. The electric train takes you 2 km into the cave where you disembark and then walk 1.5 km further into the cave. The cave formations are amazing, but unfortunately...More

The Postojna Caves are a very interesting natural phenomena and well presented. Unfortunately the website doesn't really tell you what to expect. Yes there is a 3.5km train ride (in & out), the train is long & small, but it still passes as a train....More

Hello, I wouldn't recommend it, because you will be in little train sometimes, so you will be struggling with that. Also the terrain is ok but stiff. So many ups and downs.
