Postojna Cave is the best-known cave in the world. It is also the greatest tourist attraction in Slovenia and one of the world's largest karst monuments. A fantastic web of tunnels, passages, galleries and halls, the astonishing diversity of Karst features as well as easy access are certainly the main reasons for such popularity of the cave and a large number of visitors.

After a 50 minute drive from the Prinsendam docked in Koper through the picturesque Karst Region we arrived at Postojnska Jama (Cave) 20 km long Karst cave system. Our groups guide purchased our fourteen tickets while we relaxed with coffee and pastries at the Montania Okrepčevalnica (Snack). The tour groups were arranged by their different languages in front of the... More

I was highly skeptical but these caves deserve every superlative description found in these reviews. Their scale and beauty are breathtaking--a must see. We just couldn't believe how huge they are. After riding by train through chamber after chamber, there were still an hour's worth of amazing chambers to walk through. I highly recommend visiting these caves. Words can hardly... More

It is a beautiful and huge stalactite cave. To discover the stalactites and stalagmites is very exciting and not too tiring. Guides are very nice and friendly. The most surprising may be that it is so big that you need to get on a train to reached the wonder. It's absolutely worth visiting.

Travelled via train on Christmas Day from Ljubljana. I found it rather confusing to find the caves on foot from the station. I followed the road signs but lost the way somewhat after ice rink. Managed to make it to the main fork, but was then confused as the signage at the junction is so unclear, I ended up having... More

What to say, everybody should visit this gorgeous cave. First you take a little train with your guide than you take a 30min tour walk and listen how and when was discoverd the cave, what are stalaktiti&stalagmiti, white and red gallery, russian bridge and central hall....at the end you will see the covjecja ribica

It's really a must visit place. We are overwhelmed by this attraction as initially didn't expect much. Photos don't make any justice, must see and experience yourself. Go early and queue, as front seat always better. You must follow the guide instructions as it's fairly dark inside.
