English: Very good panoramic view for free. (I recommend the cable car to get up, it takes 10-15 minutes to get up there)
Magyar: Nagyon jó panoráma ingyen. (Ajánlom a libegőt a feljutáshoz, innen 10-15 perc feljutni)

Lovely place to play in the snow. Buy a cheap sled from Tesco if you would like to slide down the hills.

Highest place in Budapest with fresh air and a lot of possibilities for outdoor activities like running, walking, cycling, hicking, sledgeing at winter time. You can go by bus or with car. You can go up with “Libego” chairlift that starts from Zugliget and finish at the bottom of Elizabeth Lookout. There are 2 free parking places. The view above the city is beautifull. There is only one supermaket around Normafa so it might be a good thing to carry some food and drink with yourself. Only one thing that you can buy at Normafa is Strudel. There is 2 or 3 timber house where you buy them. They are home made, fresh and delicious. If you take a 2,5 km walk you can reach the Elizabeth Lookout. The entrance is free and the view is the best you can find in Budapest.

Normafa is a wonderful place to go. The 21/21a buses take you all the way up the hills to this wonderful park. The views of Budapest are tremendous. There were people hiking and biking, and it was a great spot for families. There was even a refreshment stand that sold langos there. There weren’t any tourists, crowds, or people trying to sell you things there. It takes awhile to get to but it’s worth it

Easily reached by bus or use the cog railway then bus for final part. Very popular with all ages. Excellent walking paths, plenty of viewing areas hard to believe you are in a big city.

Heading for the terminal station for bus line 21 takes you to the top of Budapest, with breathtaking views over the Buda hills and Pest. The highest vista point of Budapest on János Hill is only a short walk away. Off the beaten track but well worth visiting.

Views are spectacular! Don’t know why Normafa isn’t included in top-10 sightseeing places.
Went there in July, the weather was a little bit windy so on the observation deck I had a feeling that the wind would carry me far far away, so my advice is : prepare to fight with the wind, and don’t forget to take warm clothes :)
Park itself is perfect for BBQ, it even has a special zone with tables for BBQ. So I would definitely recommend Normafa for big companies or families. Worth visiting!

Normafa is a good starting point, or ending point, for walking/hiking in Buda hills. It is a nice (and crowded sometimes) area with great view of Budapest. There is a tower on the summit of János hegy that you can access for free and have a 360° panorama. You can climb the steep way from Szépjuhászné (bus 22) then reach Normafa via Jánoshegy, or access it through the wilderness on the Budakeszi side, the paths are in good condition, not always well indicated though.

Also called Normafa Park it is actually a natural area with lots of marked hiking trails, special jogging path, big playgrounds, built grill/camp fire places, stretching areas, lakes, grassy areas for dogs or sliding/skying in the winter as well as taps for drinking water, free toilets and some buffets.
Cogwheel rail, Children's Railway as well as chairlift comes in to this area but you can use regular buses to get there. Don't forget to visit Erzsébet - Kilátó or just have a nice walk.

5 out of 5! Perfectly organized walking roads and bicycle ways, parking places and food tracks. Strongly recommended by its rope way with the incredible view on Budapest! Also perfect for observing yearly fire works. The entrance is free.
