When I read the reviews of Emily Guide, I thought it sounded good. She and the tour were outstanding. We were on a river cruise and we read what was offered in Budapest for tours. It was underwhelming. We informed her of what we were to see and she tailor-made the tour to capture the whole city. It was amazing... More

Emily was very quick on getting back to me as we arranged the tour of Budapest. I was only going to be there 2 days. You could arrange to have a car pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel. She arrive on time for the tours each day. I took two 5 hour tours. I... More

My husband and I hired Emily for a full day tour of Hungary and an afternoon tour of Budapest. We thoroughly enjoyed our tours with Emily. She was friendly and very knowledgeable. We travelled through the northeast part of Hungary through plains, mountains and vineyards. Very beautiful. Emily also has little known secrets of her country that she is willing... More

My wife and I used Emily for private tours for five days in Budapest from half day to full day tours. Overall, she was excellent. She showed us the top sites while tailoring the tours to our needs. Showed us many things that we would have missed by ourselves plus saved us a great deal of time. Getting around Budapest... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Emily. She's extremely knowledgeable about the city and the history of Budapest Hungary. She even gave us a few pointers on how to get around the city as well as some of the long tourist queues. She helped us book restaurant reservations and we loved her suggestions. Emily is just an all-around pleasure. We... More

We used Emily for a full day tour of Budapest, Jewish quarters and transfer via Bratislava to Vienna. The only adjective to use is brilliant. You cannot fault Emily's knowledge. She uses her own transport which is great. She maneuvers her Vito with ease. She reads her group well and sprinkles her history facts with anecdotes. Emily gas a contract... More

We are a big family of 12 with 4 seniors (one needed wheelchair assistance), 4 adults that could snap photos like there's no tomorrow and 4 kids that do what they do best, being wild. Emily knew her city well. For instance, our 4 year old urgently needed to go to bathroom at last minute notice, Emily was able to... More

We just returned from a fabulous Danube River cruise, first spending 3 days on our own (with another couple) in Budapest. We were lucky to have found one of the best private guides we've ever had the pleasure of using in the many years we've been cruising. Emily is such a knowledgeable and personable person, we felt like we were... More

We are a fa-mily of five. We had a late afternoon arrival on our first day. Emily picked us up from our accommodation at 6:30pm and started with our tour. The timing was perfect as we saw Heroes' Square lighted and unlighted. We saw all the grandness of Budapest that night--St. Stephen's Basilica, the Parliament, the bridges. She shared very... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
