The bus station is rather clean and directions well signposted, access to the metro is easy via stairs arranged in the station.
Seats are arranged everywhere to facilitate waiting.
Many small shops offer takeaway food such as pizza slices, even on Sunday evenings.
The information on the billboards is clear but be careful some FlixBus buses are not displayed inside.
It can be cold in winter indoors.

Staff weren't friendly or helpful. They couldn't provide any useful assistance on when my FlixBus to Vienna will arrive.

There wasn’t much inherently wrong with this station, per se. It was clean and operational, in addition to providing adequate seating in the waiting area. The departures board was also very clear. Some parts of navigating the station were a little confusing (such as which platform aligned with which bus) and the atmosphere and access to services weren’t fantastic, but my time at the station was brief so I was fine (the lack of food, free toilets and other services would’ve been of greater concern had I stayed longer).
My biggest complaint is that a dishevelled, unclean woman was loafing around in a lacklustre yet relentless bid to “sell” a fake perfume to people waiting at the station. The woman, who I believe was Romani, was quite sly and definitely went too close for comfort to travellers’ belongings - I got the feeling she was trying to steal. I had to be quite firm to get her to mooch away (no doubt to some other unsuspecting traveller). The presence of a scammer inside wasn’t good, and I hope that station attendants sill remove these types of people in future.

We caught a Flixbus to Belgrade from this bus station.
It has local buses but also has international services to nearby countries.
The bus station is just above the Nepliget metro station and this is how we accessed it. You just need to follow the good signage out of the metro station up to the bus station.
There was plenty of clean seating in the bus terminal.
There was also automatic vending machines for food along with some small shops that sold drinks and various food items.
There was good signage for arriving / departing buses.
We felt safe when we were there.

I got really sick from the food over there, (pizza)... It was the saddest busterminal I ' ve ever been. Hope one day it will be better...

I asked to change a small amount of euros, she not only insulted me with swear words (I spoke in English, but I understand what she was saying), she also rolled her eyes and threw the money so that it actually flew away, and all this while continuing to swear. as far as I'm concerned, it's her direct job to exchange money, and not to insult customers, it should simply be a mandatory item. how does she present her city to tourists???? also gave funds at a rate lower than in the table. SCAMMER and uncultured!!!

One of the worst bus stations in Europe. Dirty, with homeless people on the benches inside. Police came to escort one junkie woman sleeping across bench. Rude staff at the WC is a bonus.

Terrible experience while need to use the bathroom
I had €0,70 with me and the male staff said it’s not enough, I said I can’t change that atm is not accepting my card please accept the €0,70 I’m desperate to pee only. He said try upstairs I did go upstairs and there is no bathroom upstairs he is a horrible person.

We arrived at the Nepliget Bus stop and went to the information desk. The women who worked there saw us and didn't pay any attention nor asked us what we needed (they were just chatting). We asked them a question and they didn't even answer, so we tried again and they casually replied but weren't interested at all in giving us information. Secondly, I was in need to use the bathroom at the bus station ( I had a 6.5h trip ahead of me), so I went downstairs to use the WC and I didn't have any cash so I wanted to pay by card. They said they only accepted cash and DIDN'T LET ME USE THE BATHROOM, although I had the money to pay by card. This is UNACCEPTABLE and illegal. You can't just forbid people to use the WC just because you haven't taken the right measures, you are a goddamn BUS STATION.

I took the Flixbus from Vienna to Budapest and was very happy about the Népliget stop, as my destination was very close. The stop itself is very practical: a few shops, a money exchange (unfortunately it was closed when I was there), and the Népliget (people's park) is also very close by, so if the weather is good you can wait for the bus in the green.
