The museum is located in the Castle District on the Buda side of the Danube, along the back of the citadel, a ten minute walk from the central square and church. There are some older cannon barrels and WWI era artillery pieces outside the museum....More

They had great many weapons and cannons so it was everything I love. Also you could feel what its like to carry around old school machine gun (HEAVY)! If you're a history nut the place is perfect.

Large and interesting museum absolutely packed my military memorabilia (so many guns!). Worth a visit for the cheap entry fee if you like military history.

Because of our interest, we stuck to WWII and onward. These exhibits are fascinating. One thing that kids will love are real weapons (no ammo obviously) fastened to tables that you can pick up, and judge weight. Lovely building, great exhibits. Don't miss.

I can´t say I was expecting much but this was very well put together. My kid loved all the various model aircraft and armoured vehicles from WWII, All the insignia and uniforms were also fascinating and I loved the collection of various propaganda posters,

It depends how interested you are in military history! I think we were there about an hour.
