If you visit Budapest, most likely you will find yourself at the top of the Buda hill. Make sure you get to the Bastion to get undoubtedly the most magnificent views of the Pest side. No charge for most of it, and there is a...More
We got here just before sunset on a winters day. The views were stupendous with the last of the days sun lighting up the parliament building across the river. It was quite crowded but not enough to mar the experience or stop us being able...More
Considering that this is not what you would usually consider high season, I was surprised by the crowds. I did not climb to the upper levels but even from the ground the views across the river are great.
Very nice place with great views. Lot of people but we enjoyed our stay here. Only which was not so good was a restauranit or coffe in one place here where you cannot pay other way then just with HUF. Given the fact that you...More
We had reservations going to this place when we first arrived to Budapest. So glad that we went back and explored. Best bet is to take a 3Euro shuttle up and back. Amazing views of both sides of the city, parliemant and a nice little...More
The Buda side is very nice and from this view point you can see much of Pest and you are right at St. Mathias church - be sure to see that and the interior also. There are very good Hungarian eating places nearby and some...More
Fisherman's bastion is a natural visitor attraction overlooking the banks of the Danube.
The views are to die for, and we had the benefit of clear sunny skies which showed off the blue of the river.
The site offers some other interesting features, plus shops...More
We took the Castle Bus tour up to Buda Castle and then onward to Fisherman’s Bastion and Mattias Church. The views across the Danube are absolutely spectacular up here. Great views of Parliament across the way as well.
I was wondering around the streets and suddenly I was like in a different small town with small houses and quiet streets. And out of the blue there is this magnificent church and the violin is playing on the background. Behind that church was really...More
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many
events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
