An embankment with water, buildings, sky, boats, birds. Bits of flotsam. Tourists, people taking selfies. Lets go for a coffee.

On the Eastern side of the Danube, following a South to North course and along the main touristic area of Pest is the Korzo. It is nicely paved and runs along the tramway rails., although safely separated from them by a passerelle. On ther Eastern side of the Korzo are hotels, classical buildings, restaurants a cafes, as well as some... More

There is nothing better than a walk along the beautiful River bank of the majestic River Danube. This is along the Danube river a very nice walking place. There are a lot of restaurants, statues, hotels. You will have a wonderful view on the other side of the city - the Buda hills.

Walking along the danube affords opportunities to witness some great sights, find restaurants and bars and hop on one of many boat cruises or "hop-on-hop-off" busses. It can be a really rewarding experience provided that you don't mind traveling by foot

We loved walking along the Danube river every day and every night. The views of both sides are phenomenal as both shores have something unique to look at. We loved it especially at night when it felt that the monuments would come to life!

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
