Little square, big city

Amazingly located, but quite small square in the middle of the city centre. Very crowded at times...

As you come of Chain Bridge Roosevelt Square is directly in front of you Pest side of this gorgeous city. A lovely little well kept square with well kept grounds with bench seating, lovely statues and as a magnificent backdrop the amazing Gresham Palace which is now a Four Seasons Hotel. The square is a superb place to just chill out... More

This is a small and unassuming square, but whatever you do - do not miss the stunning Gresham palace, located behind the square.

This was my wife and I's favorite spot to take pictures of the chain bridge as well as across to Buda. The little park also has two beautiful statues as well as the beautiful hotel all lite up in the background at night.

This square is at the beginning of the Chain Bridge. It includes the roads entering and exiting the bridge, The Science Academic building, the Gresham Palace, now the Four Seasons Hotel and a nice grassy and shady park with statutes. The street on the side of the hotel will take you right to St. Stephen 's Basilica.

A must see which can be appreciated at any time, but gets especially stunning at night. With all the lighting, be sure of taking a bunch of pictures.

The Square though small in size was near to the Chain Bridge. You could take photos around and there were quite a lot of statues there. Nice view on Buda side across the bridge and many beautiful structures in the vicinity.

Small, but very picturesque square with great location. Perfect place to relax and unwind before continuing to explore Danube river banks.

This square is located about half way between Parliament and the Chain Bridge. From here you are able to get an excellent photo of Castle Hill, the Fishermen's Bastion, Mathias Church and the Chain Bridge. Square is surrounded by attractive looking buildings, the tram and the Danube

This is a nice square in front of the Gresham Palace at the foot of the Chain Bridge. Take a walk from Buda side to Pest and you can see this marvellous small green "island"! :-)

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
