Beautiful greenspace in the middle of the city. Well connected to public transit lines (Széchenyi fürdő and Hősök tere on the M1 yellow line). Several attractions including the Széchenyi baths, ice skating rink/pond, zoo, Heroes Square, and Vajdahunyad castle. We were fortunate to visit during the spring market and there were many stalls with food and handcrafts. (We did find... More

This is the perfect place to spend a day with your family. Or meet friends. Or just enjoy the weather. There are dozens of activities for everyone, including ice skating in winter, trampolines in summer. The zoo and circus are right next door.

We stopped in here initially planning to have coffee, but my husband & I quickly realized we were quite hungry after the long walk from our hotel. We were immediately greeted with warm smiles by the friendly waiters and shown to a table by the window, overlooking the ice skating rink. It was then we met our waiter, Vendelin. He... More

In the UK there is always that token person who has brought their own skates! In Hungary it's the opposite, we were the token couple who had to rent ice skates! However despite skating with the Hungarian Olympic team we had sooo much fun! It's a huge ice skating rink that considerably plays great tunes with the amazing backdrop of... More

There is a very large ice skating arena in Varosliget park right across Horos Ter underground exit. You can skate with hundreds of others which i liked a lot. It was my first but I didnt feel any danger because people was really caring and polite to each other. The entrance fee is 2000 ft and the skate rental is... More

This is a stunning place to visit, the castle is just beautiful to walk around and admire and the frozen lake with the ice skating made the moment even more special. I didn't personally skate but I watched my friends from a cafe over looking the rink and that was enjoyable. The view was great in the day but at... More

When I was visiting Budapest, I fell in love with this park, its lake, the castle... It's beautiful, but unfortunately it might be destroyed to give place to a condominium. Actuallt, the government has also cut part of the trees there, leaving a very sad landscape behind. There were even some protests going on, by inhabitants who wanted it to... More
