As part of a day’s trip out into the hills on a Sunday morning, we took the cogwheel railway to the children’s railway and rode that the base of this hill to walk up, followed by the chairlift. This was well worth the slight diversion...More

We decided to take a break from the city and go to this place in the hilly and wooded area west from Buda part of the city. And it was an adventure! We were riding the cog-wheel railway and then the small railway operated by...More

I decided to take a walk up to the top of Janoshegy as a way to get a little out of the crowds of tourists and concrete and it was well worth it. I used google maps to navigate on foot the 6km up to...More

Nice place and quite easy to reach here. The Erzebet kilato offers a beautiful view of Budapest from the top. If you have a pair of binoculars you can have a look at parliament, Margaret island and surrounding areas from the top of the tower....More

If you love hiking in the nature, it shouldn't be a big deal to climb a few steps in the Elizabeth tower, once you're on the top of the highest hill in Budapest. If you don't, well it's definitely worth it. The sight from there...More

I recommend if you have time to visit this funny place. It is a remote location from the city center on Buda side. To make the experience better, you should take the chair lift (yes!!!) from down the hill.

It's a nice view for sure. I can't say it's massively different from the one you get from the top of the cable car, so it's up to you whether you wish to make the extra effort to go here. I'm glad I did, but...More

We came by 291 bus to the chair lift, but it was closed due to maintenance so we just walked up the hill. The first part of the path is along the lift route. At some stage this path is too steep, so proceed along...More

Don't be put off by peple saying this is difficult to get to, it's not. From my hotel via the tube and one bus it was 40 mins overall and well worth it. 291 bus stops right outside. Quick and efficient to get onto the...More

The best way up to Janoshegy is to use the children's railway which is a must do experience in itself. You can catch the cog railway from the city centre to the children's railway. It is a fun way to get there and cheap. You... More
