Not sure when or how long this has been closed for renovations. We did not know until we arrived at the door, a shame, but looking at the weeds and grass outside I'd say it's been... read more

Took taxi to museum to find it closed very disappointing as it would appear to have been closed for some time and I could find no evidence as to when it would reopen.

The website says that this museum, along with several other science and technology museums will be closed until 2018. The children were very disappointed. Some of the exhibits have been moved to other locations in the country.

There is a lot to see, especially the trains and railways of Hungary are well presented. There are also other exhibitions, and a small car museum concentrated on cars manufactured in Hungary or otherwise significant to the country. More information could be in English, now there was a a lot of info only in Hungarian. Ticket prices were ridiculously low,... More

We visited “Heros Square” first which is at the beginning of a lovely park and an pleasant walk through the park to get to the museum. This is a large museum with lots to see, but as others have said before very little of the extensive information is in English which is a shame. There were other exhibits not directly... More

This is a large museum with lots to see, but unfortunately very little of the extensive information is in English - particularly on the upper floors. It would have been nice if it had been a little more hands-on - although you could go inside one of the trains and try out a 'monorail' there was not much else you... More

Going on World Women's Day the museums have special prices for women. This was obviously a treat most men were happy to take their women to! It's a wonderful museum. Well kept, interesting exhibits and a small café. A lovely walk through the park to get there.

When you visit an another country it's not your first idea to visit a transport museum however I found it pretty interesting so we decided to give it a try. It looks a bit abandoned from the outside however this should not put you down, they have an extensive and interesting collection they transport lovers must see. Also the ticket... More

Having read so many negative reviews on here, I was in two minds whether to go. I'm so glad I did. Fascinating place! One floor devoted to trains, of the old fashioned variety and you can even go into the carriages. Then we have old fashioned horse-drawn carriages, an upper floor devoted to ships and a room full of cars... More

Visited the museum, large and spacious with many exhibits, the only problem I couldn't read the information cards as they are 99% in hungarian, the only English information I found was on an old washing machine and Hoover. Very disappointed, won't be going back.
