We have spent a pleasant and very nice New Years Eve here. They had an evening with live jazz music and a menu with dinner and warm buffet with traditional soup and sausages after midnight. The dishes were very tasty, the selection of hungarian wines was also very nice. The staff was very warm and helpful, so we can only... More

We dropped in for a drink late afternoon. It was small, very cosy with friendly and helpful staff. We found out that they had live music later that night - two blues guitarists - so we decided we would come back after a meal. The staff could not have been more helpful-they recommended a local restaurant, phoned and reserved a... More

If you like good music and wine in a cosy little bar, then this is the place to be. I visited on a wednessday when two guitar players were performing. Took a nice ceasar salad and enjoyed a couple of glasses from the extensive wine list. Loved it and will certainly return Luc

A great find. Very chilled atmosphere. Comfy armchairs and mis-matched chairs and tables makes this a great little get-away from the tourists. Amazing wines on offer. You can buy them off the shelf too which cover two walls of the bar. Seems quite a local place to go. They had jazz on the night we were there and the sounds... More

Very friendly, very intimate with good food and drink at a reasonable price. We had lunch, two glasses of wine, two bowls of goulasch soup followed by two plates of pancakes stuffed with a nut and raisin mixture, drizzled with hot chocolate sauce accompanied by two glasses of dessert wine (as recommended by the guy who looked after us) for... Please go and visit this bar, It is family run, they have a cute yorkshire terrier that sits behind the bar and is very loveable! They also sell wine which is displayed on the wall, Just down the road from Deak Ferenc Metro, towards St Stephens cathedral.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
