Authentic thermal baths

Small (approx. 35 pax) capacity for one of the oldest thermal bath in Budapest. Very authentic. Not renovated. Great place.

Absolutely unique place - seems to be out of this world. If you want to have fun go to Széchenyi or Lukács, for a spiritual experience come to Király.

Sure, you don´t wanna go to Szechenyi baths or something little more fancy. We neither, however even though it´s like half-priced as other Budapest´s baths, you may feel dissapointed. We went there after 17 o´clock in November and waited 30 minutes to get in. There... Where time stopped running... All the equipment is old, somethings clear, somethings is not. But... More

Kiraly Baths is a very small old building stuck between modern blocks. The entrance is a good one meter below street level which shows its age. I was there on Saturday late morning and the place was occupied mainly by elderly people. Do not expect here anything modern or new, both building and equipment are old and worn, but the... More

The construction of this bath begun in the 16th century and you can feel it if you go there, it's like going back in time. It's little, it has no swimming pool, it has old-style sauna BUT when you enjoy the warmth of its central octagonal pool and look at the dome and its round little light-holes, you forgive all... If you're looking for scenic, monumental baths that make for a good Instagram picture, avoid Kiraly baths and go to Gellert or Szechenyi instead. If you are in Budapest on a budget and wish to have an authentic thermal experience while enjoying an informal and relaxing atmosphere, then this is the place for you. Unlike what you might read in... More

historic, and looks it, which is the point. No swimming pools. On coming in, we were shown a sign by the cashier that it was very full and we would have to wait 30-45 minutes to get into the thermal pools. Not necessarily true. Just go in and risk it.

I loved these baths. They may not have the wow-factor of Gellert but they are quite lovely (older, less crowded, more "Hungarian"). Extremely calm and relaxing. The central pool and arched dome takes you into another world, another age, far from the bustle of the city. Extremely good value for money.

Top on my list in Budapest was checking out a thermal bath spa. My daughter had suggested this one and we loved it. It's very old, not too big and seriously relaxing. There are a number of pools of different temperatures, steam rooms and saunas and you just go from pool to pool to sauna to pool at your own... More

Went to discover how a hungarian bath is like. Not bad, soaking in the warm water, felt relax, soothing away the aching muscles. Calming effect. Slept well that night.
