Fantastic is the only word that can do this wonderful historic and historically important square any justice. Heroes Square is a wonderful popular tourist destination and the Budapest Plage is the crowning glory of the square. The Plage with its seven cheifs and archangel Gabriel atop the column looks amazing . The sculpures look awesome as does this square which... More

This is part of the stunningly beautiful Heroes square. The entire square is filled with symbols and statues and is surrounded by a stunning array of columns. Despite the square being a little bit away from the center of the touristic part of Budapest, it's well worth getting there (just take the Metro to Hősök tere station, which is just... More

This was our favorite place in all of Budapest as it dominates the skyline at Heroes Square. The views all around are spectacular especially at night. A must do while in this beautiful city!

In the middle of Heroes' Square there are two semi circular columned buildings and in the center a column with Gabriel, Archangel at the top. At the base is a number of bronze statutes and horses. It is particular stunning in its size and anchored by the two semi circular buildings makes for a great sight. See more info on... More

In the middle of the Square, there was a statue with seven Hungarian Chiefs made of bronze. There was also a stone tomb of unknown soldiers in front. The site should be one of the "must-see" tourists spot in Budapest and highly recommended to others.

Main part of the famous Heroes square in Budapest. Very nicely organised, with original tribal leaders in the centre, and famous later Hungarian rulers under the colums surrounding it. Quite a powerful scene.

This was a very interesting square with bronze statues of the original Magyar settler tribe Chiefs as well as the first Hungarian King. Also a tomb of the Unknown soldier. Flanked by the gallery of fine art and the art gallery, and behind it is a beautiful green park. Only downside is that unfortunately it's near the busy Main Street

We had jumped the metro down to Heroes Square and BUDAPEST PLAGE is an absolutely wonderful centre piece of this amazing square. We had admired the bronze statues in this square but the 7 statues of the cheifs around the column and the archangel Gabriel atop it really look's out of this world. This is a very popular tourist attraction... More

The Plage is defiantly worth a walk through if you are visiting attractions in this area. Myself and my sister had bicycles which was an excellent way to see the city. The statues in the Plage are very much in the style that you come to expect when visiting Budapest- think Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones slightly creepy/gothic!... More

In Heroes square these bronze statues of former Hungarian rulers on horses are eye-catching. The location is easily accessed by tram and metro.
