When travelling in the region it's a beautiful place to stop, visit the castle, enjoy local (Hungarian) food and relax. And also learn a little bit about Hungarian history. You have to walk up to the castle (can't drive), although it can bee steep in some places. Opt to go from Tuesday-Sunday when all exhibitions are open for public. But... More

This city is well maintained, couple of years ago when last time visited was also amazed how big progress has been achieved. Now, again - compared with even some years ago. Castle is beautiful, it has sevaral exhibitions included in the entry ticket price. From torturing methods to the history of the chapel, r the story of the big bottle... More

An amazing place, where you are moved back to medioevo. A fortification plenty of history, that allows you to think about hungarian best efforts to defend their nation from invasors. At least 2 museums inside with very good technology for showing you all the details about the battles, fights and castle's history. Absolutely a "must" in Eger.

Went with my family...very old history. We got audio guide in English. There is a programme around 10.30am person dressup like historical person ..and he explained all about the castle in Hungarian language. Top of the castle panoramic view was excellent. Overall castle visit was very nice.

It has museums inside and a lot of good programs. Under 6 free to go. After opening times you can go in just to walk around for 800 HUF.

The castle itself and the history is an important part in the history of eger abd hungary. The staff do not speak english and no one proposed any english devise. We had a presentation going underground but not in english.

This is a mounting castle over looking Eger. The fee is 1600HUF each. A nice castle but for the money you're not really getting anything for it except walk along the grounds and the walls of the castle. The wax museum was a little freaky, although did come here in the winter and only 6 people around so didn't go... More
