The 12 m high white statue was completed in 2001, showing the moment when the bishop is placeing the crown on Saint Stephen's head. (Saint Stephen was the first king of Hungary) On a sunny day the view to the Danube river from the statue is fantastic. To see it is highly recommanded.

This statue is quite new ( compared with old ones in Hungary) however it's very nice and placed on an very interesting point in the city with exceptional views. It's located on the top of the hill next to the Cathedral. Worth to see and stay there for a while.

Nice walk up to the statue and a great view across the Danube into Slovakia. The area is well done with a coffee shop and rest rooms also nearby

This beautiful sculpture stands looking over the Danube and it is stunning in its beautiful simplicity. We visited it after we toured the Basilica.

Quite lovely and unexpected. Interesting design and a shame more people don't see it. If you have the chance to get there it makes great pictures.

The statue is by the edge of the basilica / castle district. It offers lovely views and is itself a great piece of art. Especially impresive by night with the lights.

This is located at the Basilia so you needn't travel far. I don't know what the statue is for, so it was not very interesting to me. However there were fantastic views.

If I go to the basilica, I take a tour to the statue too. Its a nice statue, and you can take a picture in a position, that the crown is on your head, because you sit front of Stephan. Find the place and make your own crowning :)

The walk can be hot on a summer day, but really worth it when you take a photo with a blue sky backdrop. St Stephen was the first King of Hungary and was crowned here in the year 1000. This statue depicts his coronation. Do some research, though - it's quite interesting and the coronation was not without its "issues".

I only viewed it from above but I found this statue very interesting. It's form and presence is domineering and unique. I noticed it as I was your the top of the Basilica. Very beautiful.
