The lake of Hévíz is the biggest biologically active, natural medicinal water in the world. Its temperature is affected by the combination of cold and hot spring waters coming from underground. The medicinal water breaks out from the spring cave on the surface at the rate of approx. 410 litres per second and with a temperature of 40°C. According to that delivery, the water in the lake changes every three and a half days and keeps uniformly clean.

Swimming in a natural lake in springtime, autumn or winter with a water temperature of 29 degrees is wonderful. The prices for daily tickets with sauna usage are - compared to germany - very low. It takes some courage to swim in this lake, knowing that some meters below the surface, there are caves, where this hot water comes from.... More

Heviz is a nice and lively small town during the summer but you can spend your time there during winter as well. The lake is a must see attraction. The water is not quite warm (in summer approx 30-32 Celsius) but it has healing effect and provides unique bathing experience.

Swimming in a lake in Europe on March 3? Yes, please! I had heard about this unique experience and needed to try it out myself when visiting Hévíz. It really was a cool experience to swim in a warm lake in the late afternoon as the sun was going down at this time of the year. Prices are moderate and... More

A great place to visit - float in the natural spa - both inside or out into the open air. Relaxing and soothing. Take iff jewellery though as water discoloured mine!!

We visited in wintertime. The thermal lake offers an inside pool which is heated in wintertime but you can still go outside. Although it was an experience taking a bath in the lake there wasn't anything else exciting. Mostly old people and the spa-area costs extra money. There is a bistro and a bar inside. But that's pretty much it.

I love the atmosphere of the town, the lake, and the bathing house. It's amazing to enjoy it in winter time.

Thermal lake is composed of heavy metals. It is not good for children as both my kids are suffering from gastroenteritis due to heavy metal poisoning. It is good for adults.

Heviz lake is a thermal lake with warm water throughout the year, you can even experience it in the winter time, it's magical... It also looks great for photography, lotus flowers and the scenery is just great...
