You can walk their on your own
This was an easy walk from our hotel, although we weren't downtown. But even from downtown this is very doable. Great outing for a good weather day. You don't need to be on a tour to see Slavin, unless you are looking for an escort with some verbal, historical information. Great views of the city as well!

    Impressive memorial
About a 20 min walk from Bratislava old town. Some of which is quite steep and if you have limited mobility I would consider taking a taxi. The memorial is very impressive and peaceful and sombre places to walk about. Well worth a visit. Lest we Forget

    Impressive war memorial
Situated at the top of a hill with views of the city, this can be quite a climb on foot. Suggest taking a taxi and then climbing down. A wide expanse of a place with an impressive column at the heart of it. It was very quiet when we visited and the place felt somber and peaceful. You can get views of the Bratislava castle on one side and the rest of city from the other end.

    Stunning to views
We took the trip up via taxi (and back down by foot). The memorial itself is beautifully done and is very nice to walk around whilst taking in history - or paying respects. To couple with the history around, the views over the city are equally amazing so well worth the trip.

Well worth the walk, or ride up to the memorial. Imposing architecture to honour the sacrifices from that time. Set outside the centre it is possible to walk (as we did) to the memorial and grounds though be prepared for some sharp inclines! The walk took us past some beautiful houses in what appeared to be a prosperous part of the city.

Well worth taking the time if you are visiting Bratislava.

Well worth the climb through the steep streets to reach this site. Everywhere is well kept and clean, plus there’s plenty of signs throughout the site explaining the history and what each of the sections are. The views over the city below are impressive and there’s many good photo opportunities. A peaceful site with sad history but it’s a must-visit place when in the city.

Despite the fact that this is a monument with a sad history, it is a nice place to visit and have a view of the city. It's pretty calm, with lot of green, and no souvenir stores or street sellers. Unfortunately there are no public restrooms.

Well worth the walk, the views are fantastic if you go on a clear day. The monument and memorial make for a nice visit, despite the background and history. Very calm place to sit for a while, away from the City.

This memorial, thought a bit of a walk to get to, is definitely worth visiting. There are a series of individual graves as well as a few mass graves and overall the memorial is very moving and well laid out. I'd strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Bratislava.

The views from the area are amazing. This is a Russian War Memorial. It celebrates Russians freeing the country from Germany. Sadly they didn’t actually free anyone. So it’s more of Russia patting itself on the back after the war. Seems like a propaganda display on a grand scale. But the views are great.

It is probably one of the only Eastern European cluntries who still preserves a monument in praise of the Red Army invasion in WWII. A piece of history, nice views of the city. Check out the residence of the US Ambassador nearby, it looks like a mini white house
