The monument itself is both impressive and emotional. It is very well maintained. The views from it are stunning and the walk to it is fascinating, past many embassies and lavish-looking private homes. Could easily have missed this and very glad we didn't.

I read the other reviews prior to attending today and was expecting quite a lot. Unfortunately the views across the city are very much hampered by numerous trees on all sides. There are a few gaps on the east side but definitely not worth going...More

Although the walk up is quite steep, I’d definitely advise walking it if you can so that you get most out of the expensive villas and views along the way. Once at the top there is a very peaceful and respectful memorial with more stunning...More

it's a striking monument, lots else to do around it. go to tick it off your list. Bratislava is a gorgeous city, and tiny, so make sure you see everything you can.

I’m so glad we visited Slavin. Very rich in history and moving experience. I cannot wait to get home and read up more on this.

The monument for the fallen Russian soldiers in Bratislava is an excellent reminder for future generations what are the consequences of war. Thank you Slovakia for preserving this exceptional reminder. May they all rest in peace.

Beautiful monument worth visiting! It has a great view of the city-not the best- and you can have a great walk through the monument and the little forest it has around. Better go on a visit there in the late afternoon so that you can...More

Something good as the reminder of the past how wars create so many lost of lives as the result of a few leaders with their ambitious and insane ideas. Anyway, this is now a memorial site of thousands of Soviet Army soldiers who died when...More

Whilst in Bratislava we did a lot of walking, but this took the prize for toughest ascent! Our hotel was in the city centre and if you’re planning on visiting this humbling monument be prepared for quite the uphill walk. But once you arrive be...More

A solemn memorial set in beautiful grounds with great views over the city. Not that far a walk up to it when you know where you're going but do bring plenty of water as I made the mistake of walking up to it in 30°...More

Situated on a hill above the city this is not only a memorial but the last resting place of the thousands of Russian soldiers who fell in the battle for Bratislava. The memorial is an enormous column surmounted by a soldier standing on a swastika....More

I really like the way how the Soviets are honouring their heroes and it's a nice quiet place from where you can enjoy in the good panoramic views too.
